1. Who we are

This site is operated by Smiths Beach General Store, a hospitality business at 219–221 Smiths Beach Road, Smiths Beach, Phillip Island VIC 3922, Australia. References to "we", "us" and "our" mean this business.

2. What we collect

We collect only the information you give us, plus minimal technical data needed to run the site:

  • Order details. Name, email, phone, items, pickup time, payment record. Card numbers are never stored on our servers — they are tokenised by our point-of-sale provider.
  • Gift voucher purchases. Buyer + recipient name and email, message text, amount, voucher code.
  • Booking and contact enquiries. Name, email, phone, message text, date / time / party size where applicable.
  • Mailing list. Email address, the date you signed up.
  • Server logs. Standard request metadata (IP, user-agent, page accessed, timestamp) for short-term troubleshooting.

3. Why we collect it

To take your order, deliver vouchers, reply to enquiries, send the occasional mailout (only if you opt in), and to keep the site running. We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.

4. Who we share it with

To run the services on this site, your information is processed by:

  • Automate POS — point-of-sale and payment processing.
  • Resend — transactional email delivery.
  • Vercel — website hosting and serverless function execution.

Each is bound by their own privacy policy and contractual obligations to us. We give them only the information they need to do their job.

5. Cookies and analytics

The site uses a small number of essential first-party cookies for things like form CSRF protection. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

If we run web analytics, we do so with a privacy-respecting product (e.g. Plausible) that does not use cookies and does not track individuals.

6. Your rights

Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you can:

  • Ask what we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct it.
  • Ask us to delete it (subject to record-keeping obligations for completed transactions).
  • Unsubscribe from the mailout at any time, via the link in every email.
